With the help of its members, NCSP has created community suicide prevention walks that take place across the State of Nevada during National Suicide Prevention Week in September. With credit to the Elko SOS group for the very first “Walk in Memory, Walk for Hope” in 2006, the walk event raises awareness of the problem of suicide in Nevada, offers healing support to survivors of suicide loss, and raises money for communities to support prevention efforts.
In 2011, our 5th annual “Walk in Memory, Walk for Hope” (WMWH) grew to 1100 walkers in eight communities throughout Nevada.
The 6th annual WMWH will take place on September 15, 2012, and we would love for you to join us. You can help us STOP SUICIDE by participating in this wonderful event.
Read more about the walk here.NCSP has many members who are Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) trainers and are available to go into any community organization who wants to learn how they can intervene with someone having suicidal thoughts in getting the help they need. Please see more information on the ASIST page
NCSP is always grateful for any donation to help further our mission of creating awareness and the prevention, intervention and postvention of suicide.
NCSP is always looking for new members to help our voice on suicide prevention, intervention and postvention become stronger in our state. We have individual memberships as well as organization and non-profit memberships. Join Now
